What an amazing weekend! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, honestly - the only true complaint that I had was that on Saturday, the pre-reg line ended up taking a lot longer than the walk-in line (they helped about double the amount of walk-in persons compared to people in the pre-reg line) which ended up causing me to miss the JonTron Panel - butfunnily enough this ended up working out in my favour, as I got a priority wristband for attending the Normal Boots panel the next day - and I got front row seats! Woo! Even with the wristband, I still ended up getting in line over an hour early - because damnit, there was no way that I was going to miss this one!! The panel was amazing - completely hilarious. Some great questions were asked, awesome answers given by all (Satch is such a great public speaker!) and it was generally one of the most enjoyable panels I have ever been to.
I got an adorable totoro backpack from the dealers room - which I am completely in love with. <3
As for my experience with JonTron - there were three times over the weekend that I got to see him. The first time was actually about an hour or two after his panel that I missed - I was pretty bummed out, just walking around the dealers room when my friend pointed him out! I stood there for about two minutes, pretty nervous and not knowing whether it was appropriate to go up to him or not - before I finally said screw it, I would love to meet him, so walked up and asked for a picture! He seemed quite tired out, and afterwards I did feel pretty bad for bothering him - but my god, I would be entirely lying if I didn’t say it was probably one of my best ‘fan’ experiences! I was so thrilled <3
I made up my mind that I was going to draw something for him, and write down a quick note on the back for when I saw him at Autograph time - it was about three hours of waiting before it was finally my turn in line (two hours of, like, ‘pre-waiting’ and then an hour in line). I drew a little JonTron with a speech bubble that said, “I only talk to Sailors”, a mini Jacque, and finally the Abominaaaationfrom his Bootleg Pokemon episode. On the back, I wrote a quick note saying thank you very kindly for stopping to take a photo with me, even though you were tired, and to keep on doing what you love, and what makes you happy. He said it was very sweet, and I got another awesome photo with him! (which I will upload later when I get it off of my camera!)
All in all, what a great experience for my first Con Bravo ever - I’m excited to see who they’ll have next year! It reminds me of a better version of the MTAC and DTAC that also used to run - March Toronto Anime Con and December - but nicely with a larger range of interests (mostly piquing my interests per the gaming side of things!)
